Mirror, mirror on the wall, who makes the best Jollof rice of them all? Is it the Ghanaians, Nigerians or maybe even the pioneers of Jollof, the Senegalese? As a proud Nigerian, it’s only right to say that Nigerians make the best Jollof. But does the answer really matter? I don’t know about you but I’d rather just find out where I can eat some good Jollof than get involved with the Jollof wars. So let’s put the Jollof beef aside so I can tell you where you can eat the baddest, sweetest and most succulent Jollof in London. For those who don’t have a clue what Jollof rice is, it’s a very popular dish in West Africa which consists of rice cooked in tomatoes, onions and mixture of spices to give it a delicious, sweet and smoky taste. I’ve eaten Jollof rice in many restaurants in London, from the…

These things might seems small to you but it goes a long way as it keeps the blog going. It hasn’t been easy balancing a blog with a full-time job and all the other things I’ve been working on but I’ve loved every minute of the journey and there’s more to come! Do you feel like Instagram has been blocking your blessings with this new algorithm? Girl, you’re not the only one! It was a lot easier to get your posts out there a couple of years ago compared to today. Now, if your post isn’t considered as interesting or popular, hardly anyone sees it! Social media outlets are trying to monetise their platforms, so they want more people to pay to boost their posts. It’s just business, I suppose… But we don’t give a flying duck about that. All we want is for people to see our posts. Is that too much to ask for? So how can you outsmart this new insta algorithm, I hear you say? Girl, don’t worry. I’ve got your back. Let’s dive straight into it. Engagement is KING! You gotta have high engagement! Instagram loves it when people engage with your content via comments and saved posts.…

Have you been struggling to find a good pair of mink eyelashes? Well, look no further! I had the opportunity to model a pair of these beautiful eyelashes from Kikè by Delancey. And what can I say… I really loved the look of it! What’s so nice about the eyelashes is the fact that you don’t need to wear tons of make up to get that nice voluminous effect. Bare minimum make up is more than enough to make your eyes pop.  I’ve also applied them on a highlighted and contoured face on a night out and these eyelashes were literally the icing on the cake!  So it’s safe to say that these eyelashes are perfect for day and night looks! Kikè by Delancey has a range of eyelashes available that are all named after the African queens Nefertiti, Makeda, Amina and Cleopatra. The pair I’m wearing in the picture above are…

‘Tis the season to be jolly! I’ve got a lot of reasons to be jolly. December is my birthday month and Christmas is nearly here. What a time to be alive! Since we’re extra jolly this month, I just want to thank everyone who showed love and supported my blogs throughout the year. Thank you for liking, sharing, commenting and reading my blogs. It’s means a lot to me!  I’ve got a lot planned for 2018 so watch this space! Be prepared to be entertained! I also want to use this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! If you have the opportunity to spend time with family during this festive period, make sure you take advantage of that! And most importantly, don’t forget to stuff your face in food and stay merry at all times! Sugars and love, CynTea x

It’s Black History Month! Well in the UK it is lol. This month is all about celebrating Black Excellence. On a side note, I would like to use this opportunity to say that having October recognised as Black History Month is all nice and dandy but let’s not use that as an excuse to celebrate our history and achievements once a year. This is something we should do everyday in our lives. But since it’s October, let’s just go harder with the celebrations because we absolutely can! *grins*.  There’s no better way to kick of Black History Month than going to a #YouTubeBlack event organised by Amaru from Amaru Don TV. When see you a tweet, flyer or an Instagram post for an upcoming AfroBeats in Conversation event, you already know what time it is. You don’t want to be the person who took their time to register to attend. Going…

As you guys already know, I’m a rookie in the blogging scene and only launched my blog back in April 2017. A friend tagged me in a tweet about the #BBBSocial and suggested that I should go to this event. For those who don’t know BBB stands for Black British Bloggers. ‘A bunch of bloggers in one building? Sounds like a good idea!’ was the thought going through my mind. So I attended my first blogging event last Saturday and I’m so glad I went. Met loads of bloggers, business owners, photographers, podcasters and the list goes on! The Speakers at #BBBSocial Besides getting the chance to network, there were talks on various topics that were optional to attend. Obviously, I attended some of the talks and took in some good information. The first speaker was Tatenda from Ubuntugraphy. He was so nice to give us tips on the best…

“I’ll start on Monday..” Today is Monday, that long awaiting Monday you’ve been talking about. Today is the day you promised yourself to start eating clean and healthy and take gym more serious. But somewhere mid-week, a Twix bar finds its way to your mouth. I know exactly how that feels like because this happened to me last week lol. I was eating very healthy and going to the gym religiously but ended up stuffing a red velvet cupcake down my throat mid-week. It’s hard eating clean when you have a sister who loves to bake and forces you to eat cupcakes to know whether they taste good enough to sell to her customers. Yes, I said force because I don’t really want to eat cake… You probably don’t believe me lol. But it’s time to make a change! Why you should make a change? There are a couple of…
