Right now it’s lunch time. The weather is nice. The sun is glistening and the temperature is about 27 degrees Celsius. What a nice weather to go for a walk and enjoy the weather or meet up with a friend for a drink at the pub after work. But guess where I am.. I’m sitting at my desk instead of enjoying the lovely weather. And no, I am not catching up on Trash TV lol. You’re probably thinking “We’re in the UK and this weather doesn’t come by often. Why is she not making the most out of this weather?”
Well, carry on reading  to find out why I’m stuck at my desk instead of enjoying this lovely weather.

Something’s Gotta Give!

We all have our lazy days. Days where you can’t be asked to do anything.
There are times where I just want to jump in bed as soon as I get home from work. Sometimes I’m extremely knackered but something’s gotta give. If I had the option to do nothing every day and still reach my goals, I would definitely take that option. If I could sleep in everyday, go to the gym, watch Trash TV and still be paid my full salary (even extra if they feel generous to increase my salary lol), of course I would take that option. I will grab it with both hands. Wouldn’t even think twice about it! I’m sure you would too, I mean would you say no to free money lol? Who doesn’t like things handed to them without having to put any work in? But life doesn’t work that way. If you want something, you have to work for it.

Put EXTRA hours in!

Let’s say you want to be promoted at work. Do you think you will be promoted if you don’t put ANY extra effort in your daily tasks? Heck no! You have to stand out, go the extra mile by doing things that are not even listed in your job description to achieve your targets and put in some extra unpaid hours in if necessary. That’s when your manager will notice that you are putting in extra work. I’ve seen this happen at my work place so this is not just something I am saying out of the blue.

The point I’m trying to make is that you have to put in extra work to achieve things in life. In this case, you have to sacrifice your free time to become promoted. In my case, the reason why I stay at my desk during lunch time or sometimes stay longer after work is because I have a dream to become successful so I don’t need to be a 9-5’er all my life. But if I don’t start working towards my dream now, I’ll be stuck in this rat race forever! No offence to anybody who is happy with their job by the way. So this is the reason why I sacrifice my lunch time or stay longer at work.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t sacrifice all my free time at work. I’ll end up loosing my mind if I did lol! I balance it out so there are days I do go for a walk in the park during lunch. But today I’m at my desk because there are things to be done. Like I said before, something’s gotta give.

Use your time wisely

Sacrifices are tied to achievements. If you don’t have time after working hours to work towards your goals then why don’t you do it during your lunch time? I used to work with this guy who is a gym freak. He eats, sleeps and lives in the gym lol. His job role required him to put extra hours in after work so he didn’t have time to go to the gym after work. So instead of having lunch with us, he would go to the gym because he knew he had a fitness goal to reach. He sacrificed his lunch time to go to the gym to stay fit. He made me realise that I actually have more time than I thought I did.

So what I’m trying to say is, you can achieve anything in life and make things happen for yourself by just sacrificing the little time you spend watching TV, laying around in bed or even sociable hours like your lunch time. Look at your day as a whole and separate the hours you are free to do anything. Use some of your free time to work towards your goals.
If you can work towards your goals in any location, then why don’t you take your laptop or whatever  to the park or sit in your garden so you can enjoy the sun and catch a little tan whilst being productive?  If you don’t have the luxury of working in any location and feel like you’re missing out by staying indoors while all your mates are outside enjoying the sun, why don’t you just have a glass of wine whilst you are at it? (only if you’re not on work premises lol) *wink*.
Your hard work is not going unnoticed and will pay off one day. All the sacrifices you’re making to reach you goals will be worth it.

Sugars and love,
