Food For Thought For The Weekend…
Have you ever gone through a period in life where everything seems to be falling into place? Picture this… You’ve got a good job, personal business is going well and your main squeeze isn’t given you an headache. Life can’t get any better than this right? To watch things fall into place is one of the best feelings ever! ‘Life is good’ becomes your favourite slogan.
However, things can change for the worst in a blink of an eye. How do you deal with life when it takes a toll on itself? Do you just complain about your problems?
That’s where the quote ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’ comes into play. Everyone knows that life’s a bitch. It isn’t scared to hand you some lemons when things are going well for you.
Beyoncé’s album Lemonade touched on this quote. Her album was about a bunch of stuff to be honest. It was about race and infidelity. But let’s talk about the infidelity aspect of it. Everyone knows that her husband Jay-Z cheated on her. She’s one of the most successful women in the world and you wouldn’t think that she has to worry about her hubby stepping out on her, would you? But instead of letting this situation get the best of her, she made an album addressing the issues, fixed her relationship and also made a ton of money whilst she was at it. That’s what you call a win win!
You can say that the lemons in her life were the infidelity and public humiliation her husband put her through. These lemons were literally used to make the album Lemonade (Pun Intended lol). I don’t want my message to get lost in translation with this Beyoncé reference. I’m not saying you should stay with your cheating spouse and I’m not saying you should leave them either. What I’m trying to say is to turn whatever situation you’re facing into something better for yourself. You will get annoyed when sh*t hits the fan and that’s completely normal. But don’t spend too much time complaining and sulking about your problems. Do something about it! Put your energy into changing your life from being sour to sweet again.
Sugars and love,
