This was meant to be a blog solely for my tall ladies but this topic actually relates to everyone. Even men can relate to it too! I will be writing in a girl’s perspective based on my experiences so just picture yourself in this situation by answering this question: How would you describe your perfect match using five words? What’s Your Type? If someone was to ask me what my type is, I would say: Tall, Black and Buff. With buff, I mean a guy who’s in shape with muscles. Let’s not mistake this for facial appearance lol. And obviously the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice *winks*! If he has facial hair then that’s a bonus but if he doesn’t, it’s not the end of the world lol. But have I ever ended up with someone who matches this full description? Hmm not really… It’s either the guy I dated…

It’s been a minute since I wrote a post for my tall sisters. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you. You’re probably looking at the title of this post and thinking: ‘How can you be too tall to be a bridesmaid?’ Girl, I’m as confused as you. Since when do bridesmaids have a height requirement? “It’s Only A Joke Mate..” Let me save you the heartache; This statement was a “joke”. And the joke goes like this: I was having a chat with a couple of friends and the bride-to-be about her upcoming wedding. We all asked the bride-to-be whether she has decided who her bridesmaids are gonna be. She chose her bridesmaids on the spot from the people who were in the room. I jokingly said ‘What about me?’ She then replied saying: ‘You’re too tall.’ She immediately said that she was joking but I would be lying if I said…

When you walk into a room full of people, you always notice someone looking at you. I guess it’s a normal reflex because we all look at the door when someone walks in. But there have been times when I’ve walked into a room and feel like people won’t stop staring at me. Especially when I’m wearing heels. It’s not just a normal stare, it’s a Woow she’s very tall! type of stare. Obviously like I said before, people will always stare but it’s the way you stare at people that can make someone feel uncomfortable. Am I too tall to wear heels? A couple of years ago, I went to a house party with a few friends. As we were walking in I heard a guy say “This girl is so tall, she’s actually taking the p*ss”. Everyone that heard him say that started staring at me. Some of…

“Wow, you’re so tall!”…..”Wait, how tall are you actually?” These have got to be the most common phrases and questions that I hear over and over again. I’ve been stopped by strangers on the streets and random people at parties/shindigs just to answer questions about my height. Even Bossman in the corner shop has enquired about my height! But, have you ever felt so uncomfortable about your height to the point where everywhere you go, you always “stand out”? Like literally! I can so relate to that. It’s so easy to spot me at events that I can’t even lie and say I wasn’t there lol. Also, have you felt like “one of the guys” at school? The boys considered you as part of the Mandem even though you aren’t even a tomboy *sigh*. A couple years ago when I was in college, many high street shops like Topshop did not have…
